We were so happy with the service, the food, and the professionalism of you and your staff. Personally, I appreciated your attentiveness the months, days, and even hours leading up to our wedding. As a bride, I was comforted by your thorough answers to my (many, many) questions. We continue to get so many compliments from our family and friends. Everyone was floored by the beauty of the Colonnade (and the food and beer selection!). While I was a student at the University of Scranton, I frequently drove past the Colonnade during renovations. I always hoped that one day I could have my wedding reception there. And, I'm so happy that dream came true! I wanted to take a moment to send you a note in follow up to our recent event at your facility on February 6, 2010.
About seven months ago, when we first began looking at potential places to hold a surprise 70th birthday party for my mother, our goal was to find a place that provided exceptional and reliable service, a flexible selection of menu and beverages, and a fitting atmosphere. Over the course of two months, we looked at several potential places in the Scranton area and decided that The Colonnade was the place for us. Looking back now, there is no doubt in my mind that we chose the best place. The Colonnade exceeded our expectations in all respects.

Well ... let me tell you : the "English tea" was stupendous!
First of all - the space is just lovely. Like most older homes, it is made up of multiple smaller spaces rather than one large area. Each one has been restored beautifully ... the main "space" has a magnificent chandelier and tray ceiling ... and holds about 60-75 (seated). Adjacent rooms can be used for the same event or not ... as required.
Anyway ...
The menu was just lovely- service was careful and attentive without being over the top. China, place settings, etc were all just lovely ... "old money good taste" ( even though they are, clearly new) in every way as compared to anything more "showy"
We started with a little composed salad topped with sliced chicken. That was served at each place . A really breathtaking bread basket ( deserves the descriptor : scones, palmiers, small muffins, etc ... not just bread!)
Then, the staff arranged a center table with a gorgeous display of very ornate and tiny tea sandwiches, several cold salads and some sliced melon. Veddy veddy English!
Dessert was placed at each table ... a small three tiered server with teeny little pastries!
